Truck DriverThe Truck Driver is responsible for hauling materials, equipment, and supplies to support construction work in Stebbins, Alaska. This role is a key part of keeping the job moving by making sure materials get where they need to be safely and on time.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesInspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.Transport materials over a variety of terrain, including gravel roads, tundra, and temporary access routesObey traffic laws and follow written and transportation procedures.Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, chains and spark plugs.Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.Assist with general labor tasks when hauling is not requiredPerform other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility and willingness to abide by the company's code of conduct, policies and procedures.Comply, understand, and support the company's safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.Detail-oriented and organized.Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines.Ability to comply with, understand, and support ASRC Construction's safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.Ability to take direction when working with co-workers and supervisorsAbility to learn the processes of pulling orders and loading materials on the truck.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.Core Competency RequirementsCustomer Focus – Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.Decision Quality – Makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.Drive for Results – Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully.Conflict Management – Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities; can find common ground and get cooperation with minimal noise.QualificationsRequiredAbility to meet safety expectations of the position.A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.Air Brakes endorsement.Previous experience driving in remote or off-road conditions (gravel, tundra, ice roads)Experience working on construction sites and coordinating with equipment operators and labor crewsPreferredFamiliarity with operating different truck types (dump truck, water truck, tractor/trailer, lowboy)Prior work experience as a driver.Prior experience with building material supply or wholesale supply.Experience working with truck mounted forklift delivery trucks, knuckle, and standard boom trucks.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to safely perform the essential functions of this position.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
